Oh gosh, I really feel for your friend! It’s SO frustrating to be seen as a ‘perfect’ candidate but be dismissed for such a simple reason.

I’ve found where I live definitely impacts this mindset. When I live in a city, it’s never that big of a deal, but the smaller the town, the more of an issue it seems to be.

While it can feel discouraging, I still think it’s important to keep going, and pushing back as diplomatically as we can on some of these outdated ideas.
